Rick was inducted into the University of Michigan Athletics Hall of Honor. Rick was a two-time Big Ten wrestling champion at Michigan and played football for the Wolverines in the mid-1960's.
He later became the head wrestling coach at the school where he continued to bring success to his alma mater, as his team won the conference championship and finished 2nd and 3rd in the NCAA Tournament. In 1974 Rick was named the NCAA national coach of the year. Rick is seen here accepting the honor at the awards ceremony.

In recognition of his outstanding years of service as an NCAA Division I Athletics Director, Rick was honored with selection for the National Collegiate Athletic Directors Association Hall of Fame.
Rick was inducted at the association's national convention in Anaheim, California, at the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Awards Luncheon on June 23, 2010.
